Description	:	After an illness of two years duration, I. J. Lefler passed away yesterday (Wednesday) morning at the Veteran's Hospital in Indianapolis where he had been a patient for the past several weeks. Jack, as he was familiarly known to his host of friends and acquaintances here, has resided in Florida for the past twelve years, where he had been engaged in the merchandise business. Last spring he and Mrs. Lefler came north for a visit here, and it was during this time that his health began to decline. The cause of his death was intra-abdominal tumor. ... Lefler passed away yesterday (Wednesday) morning at the Veteran's Hospital in Indianapolis where he had been a patient for the past several weeks. Jack, as he was familiarly known to his host of friends and acquaintances here, has resided in Florida for the past twelve years, where he had been engaged in the merchandise business. Last spring he and Mrs. Lefler came north for a visit here, and it was during this time that his health began to decline. The cause of his death was intra-abdominal tumor. The Leflers lived here in Francesville for some thirty years, but later moved to Pompano, Florida, where they have made their home for many years. Israel J. Lefler, son of John B. and Sarah L. Lefler, was born in Jasper county, Indiana March 17, 1879. A few years later the family removed to Francesville, where he met and married Miss Addie C. McCoy, on October 14, 1900. To this union were born four sons, three of whom, with the widow, survive him. They are: Wilford R., Gilford A., and Robert W., all of Pompano, Florida. A son, Howard, preceded him in death. He also leaves one sister, Mrs. Oscar Boulden, of this place. Mr. Lefler was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the K. of P. Lodge. He was 57 years of age. Funeral services will be conducted from the Christian church Friday afternoon, at 2 o'clock, in charge of the American Legion. Rev. John S. Van Orman, pastor of the church will conduct the services. Burial will be in the Francesville cemetery. Friends may view the body after one o'clock Friday afternoon, at the church. Francesville Tribune 8 Oct 1936
