The subject of this sketch was born in Stark County, Ohio, Nov. 11, 1828. At the age of two years, he with his parents, moved to Carroll County, where he lived until manhood.He was united in marriage to Sarah Laughlin in 1851 and to this union seven children were born, three boys and four girls. The funeral service of Israel Thompson was held at the M. P. Church at Olivet last Sunday and was largely attended. The subject of this sketch was born in Stark County, Ohio, Nov. 11, 1828. At the age of two years, he with his parents, moved to Carroll County, where he lived until manhood.He was united in marriage to Sarah Laughlin in 1851 and to this union seven children were born, three boys and four girls. Two girls have preceded their father to the tomb. The aged mother and five children are left to mourn the loss of a kind father and loving husband. Mr. Thompson united with the M. E. Church when 22 years of age and lived a consistent member up to his death. The remains were taken to Olivet Cemetery and placed in the receiving vault. Thus ends the life of one of our most respected citizens.
