Minnick Funeral Home in Beemer is in charge of arrangements. Ivy passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at the St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point, NE. Iva Dell V. "Ivy" Taylor was born May 11, 1948 at Tecumseh, NE to Roy and Mary (Ebler) Peterson. Ivy was baptized at the Grace Lutheran Church in Cook, NE and confirmed as an adult on May 31, 2008 at the St. John's Lutheran Church in Beemer, NE. She grew up on the family farm, attended rural school and graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1966. After graduation Ivy lived in Lincoln, NE, raising her children. On May 7, 1987, she was united in marriage to Harvey Taylor at Table Rock, NE. The couple lived in Bern, KS, where Ivy was employed at CR Industries in Seneca, KS. In 2000, they returned to the Talmage, NE area and she worked for Constructors out of Lincoln, NE. Ivy and Harvey moved to Beemer, NE in November of 2007, where she worked at the Elkhorn Valley Villa in Scribner, NE until her death. Ivy was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Beemer, NE. Ivy enjoyed taking care of her numerous plants, flowers, gardening, painting rocks with her grandchildren, playing cards, going dancing, camping, fishing. Ivy is survived by- Husband-Harvey Taylor of Beemer, NE Children and their families- David and wife Michelle Gaines of Lincoln, NE and children Ashley & Austin Brian and wife April Gaines of Lincoln, NE and children Kaleb & Mason Sherry Baker of Nebraska City, NE and children Katelyn, Allison & Kesten Kevin and wife Casey Gaines of Garnett, KS and daughter Kora Brother- LeRoy and wife Kay Peterson of Lincoln, NE Sister-in-law-Diana Peterson of Lincoln, NE Brother-in-law-Laverne Speckman of Elk Creek, NE Ivy was preceded in death by her parents, brother-Richard, and sister-Lila Speckman.
