Read More	* IN LOVING MEMORY OF * Iva Lucille (Moritz) Peterson was born on Saturday; February 2, 1918 in rural Montgomery County, Iowa. She was the daughter of: Hazel and George Moritz. After attending country school, she attended Spirit Lake High School, where she graduated in 1935. On August 31, 1936, she married her high school sweetheart, Harold Peterson, in Spencer, Iowa. Together, they farmed their farm east of Spirit Lake. In 1974, they sold the farm and retired to Spirit Lake. For the first time, she worked away from their home. She greatly enjoyed working in the school lunch program for several years, followed with working for a friend in his café. Whatever she was doing, keeping an impeccably clean home came first. Her grandsons, their wives and her great-grandchildren were important to her. She loved attending their activities, whether in Sioux Falls or Colorado, and kept an active interest in whatever they were doing. She enjoyed playing games, especially Old Maid, with them. Music was always important to her. Whether it was dancing with Harold in their younger days or singing all the "golden oldies" or her favorite hymns, she enjoyed herself greatly. She was a jokester with a twinkle in her eye and a laugh that was contagious. Iva was a member of the United Methodist Church in Spirit Lake, IA. She enjoyed attending chapel and Bible Study in the nursing home. In 2002 Iva moved to the Good Samaritan Society Meadowstone Apartments where she resided for several years. In 2008, she moved to Good Samaritan Society Luther Manor in Sioux Falls. There she endeared herself to the other residents and especially the staff. Iva Lucille (Moritz) Peterson, age 92, passed away on Friday; March 19, 2010 at Good Samaritan Society-Luther Manor in Sioux Falls; Minnehaha County, South Dakota. Those left to mourn her passing are: Her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Beverly Peterson, Sioux Falls, South Dakota; two grandsons and their wives, Todd and Jennifer Peterson, Kersey, Colorado and Trent and Lisa Peterson, Sioux Falls, South Dakota and 5 great-grandchildren; Christopher, Avondale, Arizona, Aaron and Colin, Kersey, Colorado, and Cole and Lauryn Iva, Sioux Falls, South Dakota. A nephew, Robert Peterson, Clear Lake, Iowa and a niece, Donna Young, Mesa, Arizona also survive, as well as other relatives. There will be no visitation. Funeral services will begin at: 10:00 a.m. on Thursday; March 25, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Society-Luther Manor, 2900 S. Lake Ave., Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Interment will be at the Lakeview Cemetery. The Turner Jenness Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
