Tony Grossenburg will officiate with burial in Greenhill Cemetery at Lemmon. Iva Mae Hardesty was born on April 19, 1930, to Jesse and Violet (Barone) Hardesty near Haynes, ND. She attended grade school in Lemmon, SD and graduated from Lemmon High School in 1948. Following her graduation, Iva worked for Paranto's Bakery. She was united in marriage to Richard Krausz on May 22, 1950 at the St. Mary's Church parsonage. To this union six children were born: Russell in 1951, Raeanda in 1954, Lori in 1957, Gerald in 1959 and twins Dorene and Deanne in 1961. Iva was a wonderful mother and enjoyed being home with her children as they grew. In the little spare time she had she enjoyed spending many hours sewing dresses and Barbie doll clothes for her daughters, and later her granddaughters. She also loved to embroider and she crocheted many afghans for her grandchildren. She loved playing Yahtzee and traveled many miles with the neighborhood ladies to play BINGO. In later years, Iva and Richard looked forward to the many visits from their children, 17 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. She entered the Five Counties Nursing Home in September of 2011 and resided there since. Iva passed away on Sunday evening, October 30, 2011 at the Five Counties Nursing Home in Lemmon with her loving family by her side. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Richard Krausz, Lemmon, SD; two sons and daughters-in-law, Russell and Wendy Krausz, Lemmon, SD and Gerald and Naomi Krausz, Minot, ND; four daughters and sons-in-law, Raeanda and Ron Tomac, Keldron, SD and Lori and Loyson Carda, Dorene and Ron Bierwagen and Deanne and Doyle Udager, all of Lemmon, SD; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Louis Hardesty, in Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Alice Engebretson and Frances Smith; two brothers, Jewel and James Hardesty; and one grandson, Allen Tomac on May 31, 2010. A memorial has been established.
