Description	:	Iva May Grover Long was born to George Washington Grover and Lucinda May Creech Grover on May 22, 1904, at White Cloud, Ks., and passed away April 1, 1992, at Sunrise Country Manor in Milford at the age of 87 years, 10 months and 9 days. Read More	Iva May Grover Long was born to George Washington Grover and Lucinda May Creech Grover on May 22, 1904, at White Cloud, Ks., and passed away April 1, 1992, at Sunrise Country Manor in Milford at the age of 87 years, 10 months and 9 days. She was one of seven children in the family. Iva moved with her family to a farm in Fillmore County where she attended a rural school, finishing the eighth grade. After her marriage to Floyd Long, they lived in Exeter for several years before moving to Lincoln. In 1970 they returned to Exeter and spent 16 years. After the death of her husband in 1986, Iva lived in Lincoln, closer to her children. The last few years she was a resident of Sunrise Country Manor in Milford. Iva was married to Floyd McKinley Long of Exeter on February 10, 1928, and to them six children were born. Iva was a member of the United Methodist Church and a devoted mother and grandmother. She loved flower gardening in the summer and had many beautiful house plants year around. Her love for children was shown by her choice of hobbies, that of collecting dolls. She especially enjoyed the ones that her own children had enjoyed, Shirley Temple and Terri Lee. Iva was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; one son, floyd Jr., of California; two grandsons, Douglas Schmit of Cramer and David Schmidt of Lincoln. She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Lois and Lewis Noble of Lincoln, Naomi and Carl Hopperstad of Chicago, Il., Arlene and Milton Schmidt of Lincoln; sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Mary Ann Long of Lincoln and Jim and Diane Long of Santa Barbara, Ca.; one sister-in-law, Alda and John Smith of LIncoln and by 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted from Farmer Funeral Home, Exeter, on Saturday, April 4. Interment was in Exeter. The Nebraska Signal April 1992
