Description	:	Mrs. Ruby W. Lowe GLADEVILLE -- Mrs. Iva Smythers Lowe 53, wife of Ruby W. Lowe of this community, RFD 3, Galax, died in Galax hospital late Sunday night, July 30, 1962. She became ill earlier in the night and was taken to the hospital about nine o'clock. Mrs. Lowe was born in Carroll County June 5, 1909, to the late John S. Smythers and wife, Mrs. Etta Newman Smythers, who survives on RFD 3 Galax. Surviving, besides the husband and mother, are two brothers, Clinton Smythers, Galax, and Nell Smythers, Baltimore, Md. Mrs. Lowe was born in Carroll County June 5, 1909, to the late John S. Smythers and wife, Mrs. Etta Newman Smythers, who survives on RFD 3 Galax. Surviving, besides the husband and mother, are two brothers, Clinton Smythers, Galax, and Nell Smythers, Baltimore, Md. Funeral services were held at Gladeville Methodist Church Tuesday at 2 p.m. Conducting the rites were the Rev. Ralph Malcomb, pastor of the church, and the Rev. Wiley Neal, a former pastor, who is now pastor of the Pearisburg Circuit. Interment was in the church cemetery. The body remained at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home, Galax, until time for removal to be placed in the church one hour before the services.
