Description	:	Ivan D. Allen, 93, of Versailles, formerly of Vevay and Shelbyville, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2007, at Major Hospital in Shelbyville. He was born June 21, 1914, in Switzerland County, the son of David Jackson and Bess Lucy Bliss Allen. He farmed for many years in Switzerland County. He was employed from 1955 to 1961 as produce manager at Ross's 421 Supermarket in Shelbyville. He and his wife owned and operated the Ohio Valley Lanes in Vevay from 1961 to 1966. Allen, 93, of Versailles, formerly of Vevay and Shelbyville, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2007, at Major Hospital in Shelbyville. He was born June 21, 1914, in Switzerland County, the son of David Jackson and Bess Lucy Bliss Allen. He farmed for many years in Switzerland County. He was employed from 1955 to 1961 as produce manager at Ross's 421 Supermarket in Shelbyville. He and his wife owned and operated the Ohio Valley Lanes in Vevay from 1961 to 1966. They also co-owned and operated the Country Bait House in Versailles from 1972 to 1989. He was a member of the Center Square Church of Christ in Center Square. He is survived by three daughters, Carolyn Scott and Vickie Coy, both of Shelbyville, and Tammy Moore of Versailles; one son, Richard "Jack" Stonebraker of Big Canoe, Ga.; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris L. Turner Allen, whom he married on June 25, 1938; one son, David Douglas Allen; his parents; and two sisters, Lelia M. Pratt and Evalena "Hap" Hatch. The funeral was at Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home. Burial was in Vevay Cemetery.
