Description	:	Ivan D. Lee, 91, of Raleigh, NC, formerly of Monticello, died on May 17, 2018 at The Oaks of Mayview in Raleigh. He was born on July 13, 1926 in South Bend, IN to the late Elza Eric Lee and Ola Lavada (Lambert) Lee. On August 28, 1948 in Monticello, he married Carolyn M. Lee, 91, of Raleigh, NC, formerly of Monticello, died on May 17, 2018 at The Oaks of Mayview in Raleigh. He was born on July 13, 1926 in South Bend, IN to the late Elza Eric Lee and Ola Lavada (Lambert) Lee. On August 28, 1948 in Monticello, he married Carolyn M. Fee; she passed away on February 27, 2008. Ivan had lived in Monticello most of his life and was a 1944 graduate of Monticello High School. He entered the United States Army in 1944 and was discharged in 1946 after serving in the Central European Theater. Ivan then attended Hanover College in Madison, IN, graduating in 1950. After graduating from college, he taught school in Monon, and then entered the FBI training school, graduating in 1951. He served as a Special Agent for the FBI for almost thirty years in New Orleans, Amarillo, Texas, Washington D.C., Dallas, and Columbia, South Carolina, retiring in November of 1980. Ivan was involved in high profile cases including the JFK Assassination and the conviction of the United States Military Intelligence spy. He was a lifetime member of the Cayce Masonic Lodge in South Carolina and was a member of the Monticello Kiwanis Club. He is survived by two daughters, two sons; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two sister-in-laws. In addition to his parents and wife, Ivan was preceded in death by two sisters, Mae Clerget and Gloria Woods; and three brothers, Ralph, Barney and Herman Lee.
