Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul. The Reverend Kati Collins will officiate. Read More	Ivan Derald Pinky Stalnaker Ivan Derald “Pinky” Stalnaker, 93, of Grand Island, formerly of St. Paul died ednesday, January 7, 2015 at the Nebraska Veteran’s Home in Grand Island. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul. The Reverend Kati Collins will officiate. Masonic Rites will be presented by the St. Paul Masonic Lodge #82 AF & AM. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home in St. Paul. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul with military honors at graveside by Carl Mogensen American Legion Post 119 of St. Paul. Memorials are suggested to the St. Paul Country Club or the American Legion Auxiliary. Derald was born June 19, 1921 in St. Paul to Ivan N. and Lillian (Morrison) Stalnaker. He grew up in St. Paul and attended school in St. Paul and graduated from high school in 1939. He was united in marriage to Cledis Rae Hansen on May 2, 1942 in Washington, D.C. After moving back to Nebraska, he worked for Kansas City Bridge Company in construction at the Grand Island Airport and at Mead Ordinance in Mead, NE. Derald entered the US Navy on January 22, 1944 serving in the South Pacific, with amphibious forces of Marines. He served as a Motor Machinist Mate 2nd Class. He was honorably discharged in January 13, 1946. In 1946, he went to Omaha to learn the Barber Business and operated a shop in St. Paul for 47 years. Derald and fourteen of his friends built the St. Paul Country Golf Club in 1956. His wife, Cledis passed away March 3, 1983. Derald was united in marriage to Jean Beck on April 25, 1985 in Grand Island. Derald was a member of the Carl Mogensen American Legion Post #119 of St. Paul, VFW of Grand Island, Platte Duetsche Society and the Elks Club of Grand Island, and the Masonic Lodge #82 AF & AM of St. Paul. He loved his family very much and enjoyed being with them. He was a pilot and enjoyed flying his airplane, hunting, fishing, taking care of his garden and golfing. He was an accomplished carver of wood figures and his family has many figurines of his work. Derald is survived by his wife, Jean of Grand Island; one daughter & son-in-law, Sheryl & Bob Clymer of Grand Island; two step daughters & step sons-in-law, Peggy & David Townsend of Kearney and Teri & Doug Sass of Grand Island; a daughter-in-law and spouse, Cindy & Gary Guth of Cedarburg,WI; 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; and one sister Geraldine Bauer of Mimot, ND. He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Cledis; and a son, Scott.
