Description	:	Son of Clarence O. & Leona C. (Barton) Martson. Married to Naoma Foster on 12-29-1940. Was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Central City and had served as an elder and trustee. Was a member of the Sertoma Club, the Lone Tree Masonic Lodge No. 36 for more than 50 years, and the American Legion Post 6. He served on the Central City School Board for 15 years, until he resigned so that outlying members could be appointed when the new Central City Senior High School was built. He served one term on the Merrick County Board of Supervisors and was appointed to the Building Council to add the Long Term Care wing to the Litzenberg Memorial County Hospital. As a member of the Merrick Foundation, Ivan served as President and headed up the committee to build the assisted living facility, Merrick Manor. Ivan and Donald F. Sampson built, owned, and operated the Parkview Nursing Home in Central City. Ivan served on the Central City Housing Authority for 23 years, and was involved in the building committee for Bader Villa. He also was a member of the Midstate Reclamation District for two years and served as president, he served on the Board of Directors for Farmers National Bank for 20 years, served on the Board of Directors for the Nebraska Fertilizer Institutes Board, and on the SCORE Advisory Council. The Sertoma Service to Mankind award was given to Ivan in 1977. Survived by his daughters-Nancy and Tim Bond of Palos Verdes Estates, California and Gresham, Nebraska; and Kay and Frank Georgiana of Hastings; two grandsons-Eric Foster Smith and Trent Anthony Georgiana; four step grandsons-Frank Georgiana, Nicholas Georgiana, Michael Georgiana, and Louis Georgiana; one great grandson-Simon Foster Smith; ten step great grandchildren; one sister-in-law-Marilyn Gillham of Redmond, Oregon; and one brother-in-law-Lowell Foster of Escondido, California. He was preceded in death by his wife, Naoma, on November 28, 2000
