Description	:	Ivan E. Taege, 86, of Fremont died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011, at Fremont Area Medical Center. He was born Aug. 17, 1924, in Pilger to Otto and Hulda (Alberts) Taege. He grew up on a farm south of Pilger and graduated from Pilger High School in 1943. He moved to Fremont in 1948. He worked as a brakeman and conductor for Chicago Northwestern Railroad for 39 years, retiring in 1986. He married Helen Eberhard on Feb. 14, 1949, in Snyder. She died Oct. 17, 2006. Taege, 86, of Fremont died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011, at Fremont Area Medical Center. He was born Aug. 17, 1924, in Pilger to Otto and Hulda (Alberts) Taege. He was a member of First Congregational Church, UCC, in Fremont and Fraternal Order of Eagles 200. Survivors include: a son, Tim (and wife, Sue) Taege of Ames, Iowa; daughters, Cinda Taege of Fremont and Sallie (and husband, Tom) Trotter of Denison, Iowa; a sister, Cleona Hoyopatubbi of Reseda, Calif.; eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild. He also was preceded in death by three brothers. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at First Congregational Church, UCC, in Fremont with the Rev. Larry Jirsak officiating. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Friday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service time Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in Fremont. Memorials may be directed to First Congregational Church, UCC. Printed Fremont Tribune, February 22, 2011.
