Description	:	Ottumwa Courier Dated: December 5, 1956 Death Comes At 85 To J.C. (Dad) Murray J.C. (Dad) Murray, 85, above, of 328 Gara street, died Wednesday evening at the Graham hospital in Keokuk. Mr. Murray was born Aug. 14, 1871, near Bladensburg and had lived in the Ottumwa vicinity all of his life. this fall he moved to Keokuk to live with a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Alice Murray. Mr. Murray was born Aug. 14, 1871, near Bladensburg and had lived in the Ottumwa vicinity all of his life. this fall he moved to Keokuk to live with a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Alice Murray. Besides Mrs. Murray he is survived by a granddaughter, Mrs. Sally Kreins of Keokuk. Mr. Murray began employment with the J. W. Edgerly Co. in 1900, first as assistant bookkeeper. Later he was in chage of the paint department, and at his retirement in March 1949, he was superintendent of plant operation. He was graduated from Iowa State college, and was active in football while in college. He was a member of the First Methodist church, and of Olive Branch lodge No. 21, A.F. & A.M. of Agency. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Jay funeral home in charge of the Rev. Paul Hann D.D. pastor of the First Methodist church. Burial will be in Agency cemetery, with Masonic services at the grave.
