Mr. Dauphinee was enjoying good health, working every day as usual. He left his family that evening with his usual jolly sayings, on his way to bed. His wife, joining him about a half-hour later, found he had fallen asleep and gone to live in a greater world with the Saviour. Mr. Dauphinee was enjoying good health, working every day as usual. He left his family that evening with his usual jolly sayings, on his way to bed. His wife, joining him about a half-hour later, found he had fallen asleep and gone to live in a greater world with the Saviour. Mr. Dauphinee, known to all his friends, and relatives as "Pop Dauphinee", just passed his 90th birthdate on October 26th. He was much devoted to his family, always wanting to do something to help and please them. His every-day wish was to keep on working till the Lord called him home, and God answered his prayers. The angels came and took him while he slept. He was a member of the Baptist church, and although not being able to attend the regular services for many years on account of his hearing, he listened to the morning devotions on the radio daily and the church service on Sunday. He was the youngest son of the late Isaac and Sophia Dauphinee, of Northwest, and was married in 1888 to Adelaide Eisenhauer, of Northwest where they lived until 30 years ago, when they moved to Bridgewater. He is survived by his wife, Adelaide Dauphinee, four daughters, Mrs. Harris Berringer of Northwest, Mrs. Anthony Cantelope, of Northwest; Mrs. Winnie Demone, Bridgewater, and Mrs. Arnold Lohnes, of Bridgewater, with whom he resided; six grandchildren, Owen, Dawson and Starr Cantelope, Aubrey Berringer, Mrs. Duncan Spidle, and Mrs. Tremaine Fraser; also eight great grandchildren. Mr. Dauphinee was the first break in the family circle. The funeral was held from the residence of Mr. Dauphinee's son-in-law Arnold Lohnes, on Tuesday, November 15, at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. D. L. Kennedy officiating. The hymns sung were favorites of the deceased. The four grandsons laid him to rest in the Northwest Cemetery, a spot chosen in his home churchyard by the deceased, many years ago. Rev. G.E. Huestis assisted at the grave.
