Description	:	Miles was born in rural Pebble Twp. near Scribner, NE. He worked as a bank clerk and was the postmaster in North Bend, Nebraska in the early 1920s. He served in the military during World War I. He was the first commander of the North Bend American Legion post. He had a lifelong all-consuming hobby of acquiring information and keeping records on thoroughbred animals of every breed. He loved to travel to the Kentucky Derby where thoroughbred horses ran.
