Description	:	Zula Madison Zula (Barker) Madison,98, of Vevay, passed away Friday, January 21st, at her home. She was born February 2nd, 1895, in Ohio County, the daughter of James Harvey and Viola (Bovard) Barker. She was the retired owner and operator of Zula's Grocery in Vevay and general store in East Enterprise, Center Square and Mount Sterling for many years. She was a member of the Center Square Baptist Church, was a life member of the Vevay VFW ladies Auxiliary, and was a member of the Vevay American Legion ladies Auxiliary. She was born February 2nd, 1895, in Ohio County, the daughter of James Harvey and Viola (Bovard) Barker. She was the retired owner and operator of Zula's Grocery in Vevay and general store in East Enterprise, Center Square and Mount Sterling for many years. She was a member of the Center Square Baptist Church, was a life member of the Vevay VFW ladies Auxiliary, and was a member of the Vevay American Legion ladies Auxiliary. On September 14th, 1914, she married James W. "Jim" Madison, who preceded her in death. Survivors include her daughter, Beulah "Boo" Sullivan of Vevay; her grandsons, Lowell Wayne Sullivan of Vevay, Robert Sullivan of North Vernon, and Mike Madison of Hanover; her great-grandchildren, Kim, Stan, Wayne, Scotty, Jason, Tye, James Leslie, and Cory; and her Great-great-grandchildren, Joe and Niki. She was also preceded in death by her son, James G. Madison, Jr. on July 31st, 1982; her daughters, Leona Madison and Marjorie L. Madison on July 8th, 1969; her sisters, Cassie Houze, Rachel Peters, Kate Youngs and Christine Miles; and her brothers, Robert Barker on August 29th,1959, and Herbert Barker. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, January 23rd, by Reverend Ronald Sandidge at Haskell and Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay. Graveside services were held Monday, January 24th, with burial in the Vevay Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Switzerland County Emergency Unit.
