Description	:	Franklin County Recorder 15 Feb 1882: Jabish Jones of Geneva township died last Wednesday in the 90th year of his age, he being 89 last November. He was born in West Virginia, and had been a resident of Franklin county for over 25 years, and was always in good health until during the past year. We have known him to walk from his residence at Four Mile Grove to Hampton and back frequently within the past dozen years. Read More	Franklin County Recorder 15 Feb 1882: Jabish Jones of Geneva township died last Wednesday in the 90th year of his age, he being 89 last November. He was born in West Virginia, and had been a resident of Franklin county for over 25 years, and was always in good health until during the past year. We have known him to walk from his residence at Four Mile Grove to Hampton and back frequently within the past dozen years. He leaves a son who is 68 or 69 years of age, grandchildren in middle life, and great grandchildren grown up. He was a soldier in the war of 1812, and drew a pension therefor, and was always known as an honest, peaceable and quiet citizen. When JABISH JONES was born on November 16, 1792, in Virginia (then W VA), his father, BENJAMIN, was 24 and his mother, ELIZABETH, was 16. He married MARY LEWELLEN on July 12, 1812, in Virginia (W VA). He had three children by the time he was 25. He died on February 8, 1882, in Franklin County, Iowa, having lived a long life of 89 years, and was buried in Geneva, Iowa.
