Burial followed at Pleasant View Cemetery in Little Rock. Jack Peters was born Jan. 5, 1931, to Ollie and Nellie (Anderson) Peters. He grew up in Little Rock and graduated from Little Rock High School in 1948. On May 24, 1949, he married Ethyl Block in Little Rock. They lived in Holstein, Iowa, for two years where he worked for Central Telephone Company. The couple moved to a farm north of Little Rock and started farming. His wife, Ethyl, died on July 9, 1984. On Feb. 20, 1988, he married Darlene Jans in Little Rock. They continued to farm until 1994 when they moved to Little Rock. Throughout the years he enjoyed farming and selling Pride seed corn. Mr. Peters was a member of Salem Reformed Church in Little Rock where he served on the consistory. He also was a member of Little Rock Town and Country and served on the United Farmers Coop Board of Directors. He enjoyed vacationing with his family in the early years, square dancing, playing cards and picnicking with his family. Mr. Peters is survived by his wife, Darlene Peters, Little Rock; four children, Marcia (Paul) Leemkuil, Mount Ida, Ark., Merrill (Lisa) Peters, Adrian, Vickie (Ted) Jenniges, Ellsworth, and Doug (Ruth) Peters, Wentworth, S.D.; a stepson, Gerald (Donna) Jans, Hawarden, Iowa; 17 grandchildren, Tamar Leemkuil, Nathan (Stacy) Leemkuil, Matthew (Cora) Leemkuil, Bridget (Steve) Hinrichs, Natalie (Glenn) Hieronimus, Joshua Peters (friend Melissa), Stacie (Bill) VerSteeg, Kassidy and Kayla Peters, Tom (Lindsay) Jenniges, Janelle Jenniges, Travis (Marla) Jenniges, Tyler Jenniges and Jared, Nichole, Jason and Justin Peters; six stepgrandchildren, Cody Jans, Caitlin (Blake) Hoogland, Tricia Jans, Shandra (Matt) Meier and Joie and Jeremiah Jans; 18 great-grandchildren; a brother, Gene (Gwen) Peters, Little Rock; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Ethyl Peters; a daughter-in-law Loann Peters; a stepson, Kevin Jans; a brother, Vernon "Bud" Peters; and 3 three sisters, Fern Fischer, Arlene Ubbinga and Anna Mae LaCour.
