Description	:	Jack Doyce Flohr, the son of Elmer and Grace (Dunbar) Flohr, was born in Holdrege, Nebraska on September 4, 1932 and died in Omaha, Nebraska on November 1, 2003, at the age of 71. Read More	Jack Doyce Flohr, the son of Elmer and Grace (Dunbar) Flohr, was born in Holdrege, Nebraska on September 4, 1932 and died in Omaha, Nebraska on November 1, 2003, at the age of 71. He attended school in Holdrege. Jack served in the U.S. Navy from 1952 to 1956. He was stationed on the U.S.S. Windham Bay CVE 92, while serving he made 19 trips across the Pacific Ocean to various ports. Jack was united in marriage to LaVonne Zemak on February 26, 1955 at Kronborg. Jack worked at several jobs over his working career. He worked for the C.B. & Q Railroad before serving in the Navy. When he returned home from the service he worked for the Hamilton Telephone Company for 18 years, Bonnavilla, George Brothers of Sutton and over 20 years for Hamilton County Roads Department before retiring in 1999, when he began to work part-time for them. Jack enjoyed all sports, fishing, hunting and caring for wildlife. Jack's hobbies including woodworking and crafts. He restored many pieces of antique furniture. Jack was a 30 year-member of the Marquette Volunteer Fire Department. He also was a member of the V.F.W. Post #4993, where he held several offices over the years. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Luetta and Orlene. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife LaVonne of Marquette; son, JayDee Flohr and his wife Rita of Grand Island; 2 grandchildren, Christopher and Caitlin Flohr of Grand Island; two sisters, Sandra Danhauer of Grand Island and Patsy Fitch and her husband Don of Atlanta and several nieces and nephews.
