Jack was born on July 15, 1928 near Barstow, the son of Paul Michael and Evelyn Lloydeen (Terry) Anderson. Read More	From the Statesman Examiner Jack L. Anderson, a lifelong resident of the Colville area, passed away on June 8, 2011 in Spokane at the age of 82. Jack was born on July 15, 1928 near Barstow, the son of Paul Michael and Evelyn Lloydeen (Terry) Anderson. Jack began school in Orient and finished his education as a 1948 graduate of Colville High School. He then worked for two years with the U.S. Forest Service. Jack entered the U.S. Army on Nov. 10, 1950 and served overseas in the occupation of Japan and received the Bronze Star for service during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on Sept. 8, 1952 at Fort Lewis. Jack returned home to the Colville area and worked as a CAT driver, pushing tailings at the Vanstone Mine. He also drove truck for Mayflower Trucking Company before beginning a career in carpentry and home construction. Jack began an extended friendship with Lydia Goopio Sinadjan as pen pals. Their relationship grew into marriage on April 15, 1974 in Cebu, Philippines. Together they began a family in Colville. Jack was very frugal and invested wisely in his future, which allowed him to retire in the early 1980's and spend time with his family. Jack would pick up the occasional odd job, but spent most of his time working on his home and caring for his yard and garden. Jack loved to fish and hunt. He spent many hours fishing alongside his wife, Lydia, and enjoying the company of his family. He also volunteered his love of yard care at the Dominion Meadows Golf Course, mowing greens and fairways. Jack often reminisced of his climb to the top of Mount Fuji while stationed in Japan. His family will, in turn, remember his stories with a smile as a loving father and husband with a touch of "sweet grouch". Jack is survived by his wife, Lydia Anderson, at the home; sons, Amphil Anderson, Spokane; Domino Anderson, Colville; daughter, Christelle Callen and husband, Logan, Spokane; brother, Terry Anderson and his wife, Twila, Spokane; nieces and nephews, Terry Jr., Steven, Joyce, Russell, Paula, Mark and Gayle. A Mass of Christian burial was held June 13, 2011 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Colville. A graveside service and military honors followed at the Calvary Cemetery in Colville. Father Steve Werner celebrated the Mass and graveside. Memorial contributions may be given to the Shriner's Hospital for Children.
