Born August 15, 1936, on the hottest day on record, in New London, Iowa, he was the son of William Arch and Violet Laverna Tripp Brown. On July 27, 1958 he married Patricia Elaine Klaus in Burlington, Iowa. He was a welder at J.I. Case Company in Burlington for 33 years and retired in 1990. He graduated from New London High School in 1954. Jack was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, now known as Community of Christ Church, in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. He held the office of priest. Through his works with the church, he was known within the community as a humanitarian. He enjoyed all sports and was a long-time supporter of the Cubs, Chiefs, and Iowa Hawkeyes. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, bowling, riding motorcycles, and the occasional trip to the casino. He built his own private golf course for friends and family. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and an infant son.
