Fry, Sr., beloved father, husband, brother, grandfather and friend died January 14, 2007, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona due to complications from cancer surgery. He was 81. Jack is survived by two sons, Jack L. Fry, Jr. and his wife Vicki of Portland, Oregon and Stephen M. Fry and his wife Debbie of Phoenix, Arizona and two grandchildren, Anna, 23 and Eric, 22 also of Phoenix. Mr. Fry is also survived by two brothers, Bert Farmer and his wife Nellie of Knoxville, Iowa and Chuck Farmer and his wife Lois of Eddyville, Iowa. Born to Florence Smith and Wiley Fry on September 6, 1925, in Oskaloosa, he graduated from Eddyville High School in 1944. Mr. Fry served his country during WWII and was honorably discharged May of 1946, from the United States Army. Jack married Janice Holden, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Holden of Oskaloosa, July 28, 1946. After a brief enrollment at Central College in Pella, Mr. Fry joined the M & St.L Railroad as a conductor and served several railroads in the area for 42 years as an Engineer. He retired in 1988 from Chicago and Northwestern Line. He was preceded in death by his mother Florence Farmer in 1973, and wife Janice, June 27, 1987.
