Description	:	Jack Walker, age 78, of Russellville, died Monday, July 29, 2002 at the Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock. He was born February 18, 1924, at Centerville, Arkansas, a son of the late Amos Jackson and Martha Louisa George Walker. He was a retired Sergeant First Class in the U. S. Army, having served in World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. After retiring from the Army, he was... Read More	Jack Walker, age 78, of Russellville, died Monday, July 29, 2002 at the Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock. He was born February 18, 1924, at Centerville, Arkansas, a son of the late Amos Jackson and Martha Louisa George Walker. He was a retired Sergeant First Class in the U. S. Army, having served in World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He participated in the Atomic Blast testing at Frenchman's Flat Nevada Proving Ground on April 15, 1955 and the Yucca Flat Nevada Proving Ground on March 29, 1955. After retiring from the Army, he was a security guard at Morton's Frozen Foods, now ConAgra, for approximately 10 years. He was a member of the American Legion, the Rogers-Rye VFW Post 2283 and the Fair Park Baptist Church, where he served on numerous committees. Survivors include his wife, Jessie Reed Walker; two sons, Larry and Gary Walker of Russellville; two daughters, Janice Hefley of Pine Bluff and Barbara Adams of Russellville; two sisters, Alvie Anderson Morgan of Modesto, California and Eula Vae Grace of Russellville; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 10 A. M., Friday, August 2nd, at Shinn Chapel with Rev. Chuck Sanders and Rev. Todd Davis officiating. Burial, with military honors by Rogers-Rye VFW Post 2283, will be in Brearley Cemetery at Dardanelle, under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service. Pallbearers will be Charlie Adams, Howard Beshears, Vernon Collins, Jerry Hottinger, Bobby Roach and Chuck Standridge. Honorary pallbearers are members of Fair Park Baptist Church, friends of McDougal Lane and members of Rogers-Rye VFW Post 2283. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 P.
