Description	:	JACK BARE Jack Wallace Bare, 96, of Richmond, passed away Monday, October 7, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elton Biedler Bare of 10th Legion, Va. and Raleigh Wallace Bare of Stuarts Draft, Va.; sisters, Violet Ridlon, Hazel Clay and Cordena Dan Nuckols. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Joan Millar Bare; daughter, Jennifer Rebecca Moreno and her husband, Mark; granddaughters, Meredith and Caroline Moreno; niece, Deborah Culbertson; and nephews, Richard and Tom Nuckols. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elton Biedler Bare of 10th Legion, Va. and Raleigh Wallace Bare of Stuarts Draft, Va.; sisters, Violet Ridlon, Hazel Clay and Cordena Dan Nuckols. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Joan Millar Bare; daughter, Jennifer Rebecca Moreno and her husband, Mark; granddaughters, Meredith and Caroline Moreno; niece, Deborah Culbertson; and nephews, Richard and Tom Nuckols. Mr. Bare served in World War II as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Quartermasters Corps, which was deployed to The Phillipines and served in Japan after peace was declared. Jack was founder and president of Richmond Typewriter Co., which was located on W. Broad St. for many years. He was a faithful member of Forest Hill Presbyterian Church for over 50 years and served as deacon and elder. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, October 10 at Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Ave., where funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, October 11. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery. Following the interment service, there will be a reception at Forest Hill Presbyterian Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 4600 Cox Rd., Suite 130, Glen Allen, Va. 23060 or to Forest Hill Presbyterian Church, 4401 Forest Hill Ave., Richmond, Va. 23225. The family would like to thank the staff of the Towers Retirement and Assisted Living Facility for their concern, love and excellent care of Jack.
