He was born November 1, 1934 in Wapello County to Max Bill and Wanda Marie Eller Peck. Jack married Sharlene Simmons on February 14, 1959 and she preceded him in death on November 25, 2003. He was born November 1, 1934 in Wapello County to Max Bill and Wanda Marie Eller Peck. Jack married Sharlene Simmons on February 14, 1959 and she preceded him in death on November 25, 2003. A resident of Ottumwa all of his life, Jack had served with the U.S. Air Force. He worked for John Morrell & Co. until the plant closed in 1973 and then worked 7 ½ years at the Wapello County Home. Jack retired from John Deere Ottumwa Works in 1998. He was a member of First Baptist Church Surviving is his daughter, Jacki (Ron) Stursma of Ottumwa; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Janet Wemer of Lakeland, FL. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Greg Peck; a sister, Patty Johnston and a brother, Max Peck. Private graveside services and inurnment will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, PO Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675-8516. Reece Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
