Description	:	BELINGTON — Mr. Jackie Lee Booth, age 85, a resident of Belington, departed this life Thursday afternoon July 18, 2019 at his residence, following a period of declining health. He was born August 31, 1933, at Barbour County, a son of the late Delsworth and Gladys Smith Boyles Booth and his stepfather, whom he called dad, Harley Boyles. Read More	BELINGTON — Mr. Jackie Lee Booth, age 85, a resident of Belington, departed this life Thursday afternoon July 18, 2019 at his residence, following a period of declining health. He was born August 31, 1933, at Barbour County, a son of the late Delsworth and Gladys Smith Boyles Booth and his stepfather, whom he called dad, Harley Boyles. He was twice married, first on Dec. 22, 1951 to the former Glenola Jean Hershman , who preceded him in death on June 12, 1999 and secondly on May 18, 2002 to the former Treva Tenney, who preceded him in death on November 17, 2018. He is survived by two daughters, Vicki Lynn Seech and husband, Danny and Suetta Lea Durst and husband, Kevin; one son, Joseph Michael Booth and wife, Penny; half-sister, Donna Jo Marsh and husband, Richard; five grandchildren, Cheryl Hawkins and husband, John, Brandy Phillips and companion, Doug Rucke, JP Phillips and companion, Patty Wolfe, Jaime Short and husband, Bria and Michael Lee Booth and wife, Carrie; nine great-grandchildren, JW Hawkins, Caleb Hawkins, Jedidiah Hawkins, Caden Hawkins, Courtney Suggs and husband, Colby, Trae Corley and companion, Elizabeth Shaffer, Zackary Short, Braiden Short and Corbin Booth and three great-great-grandchildren, Kinleigh Suggs, Easton Suggs and Grayson Corley. In addition to his parents; step-father and wives, he was preceded in death by one stepsister; Freddie Castello. Jackie attended the Corley School and Belington High School and attended the Corley United Methodist Church. He was formerly employed by Barbour Coal and Grafton Coal, had worked out of the Laborers Union Local #983 and had worked in road construction. He was a proud veteran serving in the United States Army, a member of the Masonic Lodge #125 AF&AM, was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and was a Shriners belonging to the Nemesis Temple. He belonged to American Legion Post # 96 of Belington, was a lifelong member of the Laurel Mountain Post # 410 in Belington and was a member of the UMWA Union District #31. He was a wonderful man and loved his country and family and looked forward to each and every visit from his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. The family of Mr. Booth would like to extend their love and appreciation to his care giver, Sherry Nestor. Friends will be received from the Talbott Funeral Home 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington from 4 - 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2019 and again from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, 2019. The funeral hour when final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel is at 2 p.m., with the Pastor Bryan Headley officiating. Interment will then follow in the Booth Family Cemetery near Belington, where the Belington Masonic Lodge #125 AF&AM will conduct ritualistic graveside services and full military rites will be accorded by the Belington American Legion Post # 96 along with the United States Army. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to any of these Organizations: Mountain Hospice 1002 S.
