Jackie was born 24 Nov. 1932, in Sioux City, to John B. & Audrey (HULSE) ANDERSON. She attended Central High School, graduating in January with the class of 1951. Jackie married the love of her life, John R. "Jack" BYRNE, on 27 June 1953 at Whitfield United Methodist Church. To this union was born 1 daughter, Cindi. Jackie worked at Northwestern Bell until 1956, & was a former member of the Y-wives. In 1986, Jackie & a friend formed Siouxland Crafters at the Salvation Army, & she enjoyed the crafts & the companionship, other than her daughter, this was her proudest accomplishment. Jackie was a member of Whitfield United Methodist Church for more than 50 years, but had recently been attending the Church of All Nations. She has been a member of Eastern Star Rose Croix Chapter for more than 50 years. Jackie loved spending time at Miner's Bend with her friends & family. She dearly loved vacationing in Gulf Shores, Ala., & especially enjoyed going to the Mardi Gras Parade to collect beads. Jackie was a strong, kind, courageous woman with a heart of gold. She had suffered in constant heart pain for many years & rarely complained & always kept a smile on her face for her family & friends. Jackie is survived by her daughter, Cindi of Onawa, Iowa; brother, John B. & his wife, Joy of Sioux City; nephew, Bruce Anderson & his wife, Natalie; & her niece, Julie May & her husband, Tom. Jackie was preceded in death by her parents; & her husband, Jack, just last week on 7 Aug. 2010.
