FUNERAL HELD FRIDAY FOR J. F. McMASTER Jackson Fish McMaster, son of First Lt William McMaster and Ruth Fish McMaster, was born August 19, 1858, near New London, Iowa, and grew to manhood in the vicinity of Ottumwa Iowa He was married to Dora Sisson and moved to Alda, Nebr Two daughters and four sons were born to this union In 1897 his wife Dora passed away. April 25, 1899, he married Martha Elizabeth Jackson at Ottumwa, Iowa, and to this union three daughters and two sons were born, the sons dying in infancy. In 1907 he joined the M E church at Billy Sunday's Tabernacle at Ottumwa. He moved to a farm near Lime Springs, Iowa in the year 1913 and later near Chester where he spent his life holding his steadfast belief of honesty in his work and dealings with others. He appreciated the kindnesses of others toward him to the last He passed away Sunday evening, May 10, 1942, at the age of 83 years, 8 months and 21 days He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Martha Elizabeth, his daughters Mrs. Ruth Bean, of Ottumwa, Mrs. Mabel Bequeaith of Des Moines, Mrs. Zella Gerber of near Lime Springs, Rena and Vera at home. Roy Ervin of Preston, Earl of Lime Springs, Orville of Chester (another son Eberly Kost preceded him in death Jan 18, 1923) He leaves 13 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and many friends. Services were held last Thursday at the home south of Chester and at Larson's funeral home in Lime Springs officiated by the Rev. C. L. Oelfke, pastor of the Methodist Church. Mr and Mrs Wendell Vander [Bie?] sang two hymns with Mrs Bert Thomas as accompanist. Interment was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Lime Springs Pallbearers were Wm J Armstrong, Lars Anderson, Charles Murphy, John Carey, Charles Muset, and Frank Prochaska. CARD OF THANKS We wish to express our deep appreciation to our neighbors and friends for their many kindnesses during the Illness and following the death of our beloved husband and father, for the many expressions of sympathy and kind acts of assistance Also we thank all taking part in the funeral services, and those sending floral tributes Mrs J. F. McMaster and family.
