Description	:	Jackson Rush, late of Polk county, died at the home of his son in Weaubleau, early Saturday, March 14, aged 83 years, 7 months and 7 days. The deceased was born in the state of Indiana August 7, 1830. He had spent some time in the state of Nebraska, several years in Kansas and the last four years in Polk county. About one month ago he came to Weaubleau to make his home with his son and family, who did everything possible to smooth his pathway the closing days of his life. Brother Rush leaves his aged wife,... Read More	Jackson Rush, late of Polk county, died at the home of his son in Weaubleau, early Saturday, March 14, aged 83 years, 7 months and 7 days. The deceased was born in the state of Indiana August 7, 1830. He had spent some time in the state of Nebraska, several years in Kansas and the last four years in Polk county. About one month ago he came to Weaubleau to make his home with his son and family, who did everything possible to smooth his pathway the closing days of his life. Brother Rush leaves his aged wife, four children, many grandchildren and several great grandchildren to mourn their loss. Brother Rush had been a member of the Methodist church for over 62 years, exemplifying in his everyday life the genuine Christian spirit. A great leader of song, filling official positions in the church and preaching the Gospel as a local preacher, showing forth the power of good, of a good man's life. The relatives have the sympathy of the entire community. The Interment took place in the Robinson cemetery. The funeral services were conducted at the Baptist church in charge of Rev. MaCaffree of Mitchell, Neb., assisted by Rev. Smith of Weaubleau and Rev. Mr. Phifer of Springfield. Brother Rush was a faithful member and a great admirer of the I.O.O.F. and the lodge at Weaubleau attended in a body and had charge of the ceremony at the grave. Weaubleau, Mo., Leader. The relatives here are Mrs. J. F. McConnell of Enterprise and Mrs. Henry Knoll of Abilene, daughters. Mr. Rush formerly resided in this city.
