Description	:	Jacob A. Snuggs, son of George and Adeline Snuggs, was born June 29, 1881 in Lucas County and departed this life Monday, August 14, 1961, at the Des Moines General Hospital where he had been a patient for six days. He was 80 years of age. On January 1, 1908 he was united in marriage to Pearl Ellen Brown, and to this union seven children were born: Granville and Orville of Chariton, Chester of Lucas, Mrs. Veta McCarty of Premise City, Ivan of Caldonia, Illinois, Mrs. Noma Waugh of Boring, Oregon, and Mrs. Dorothy Christopher, who preceded him in death. On January 1, 1908 he was united in marriage to Pearl Ellen Brown, and to this union seven children were born: Granville and Orville of Chariton, Chester of Lucas, Mrs. Veta McCarty of Premise City, Ivan of Caldonia, Illinois, Mrs. Noma Waugh of Boring, Oregon, and Mrs. Dorothy Christopher, who preceded him in death. Mr. Snuggs lived most of his life in Lucas County except for two years in Colorado and five years in Clarke County. He had made many friends throughout his life and will be greatly missed by all. Survivors include his wife, six children, 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, two brothers: Earl of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Charles of Chariton; and three sisters: Mrs. Amanda Roberts and Mrs. Estella Ruble of Des Moines, and Miss Ethal Snuggs of Chariton. One brother and two sisters preceded him in death. Funeral services were held Friday, August 18, at the Miley Chapel. The Rev. V.E. Shickell officiated with interment in the Norwood Cemetery.
