Well-known Bellefue resident, died at 4:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon in Finley hospital, Dubuque, where he had been in a serious condition for several days. The body was brought to Bellevue and taken to the John Dye funeral home and the funeral will be held from there to St. John's Lutheran Church at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon, following services at the funeral homat 1:30. Burial will be made in the Lutheran cemetery. Jan. 9, 1942. August J. Lampe, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lampe, was born on a farm in Jackson county, July 17, 1865. When a young man he located in Dubuque and before cooming to Bellevue in 1919 he was employed in Dubuque as secretary for the Key City Furniture Co. The survivors include his widow, the former Miss Dorotha Goepfert and two children by a previous marriage, Ruben Lampe of Dubuaue and Mrs. Walter Hinke of Welton and several grandchildren and one brother, Louis H. Lampe of Bellevue. He married first to Glen Norah Hickok b. Aug. 21, 1869 Center Grove, Dubuque County, IA. she died of Diabetes and buried Nov. 5, 1912 in the Linwood Cemetery, Dubuque, IA. Her parents were: L.F. and A. (McCraney) Hickok. children of A.J. and Glen were(4). Ida Genevra, August Albert (Albert), Ruehen Kenneth, and Birdeva Thelma Lampe. Jacob remarried Feb. 12, 1916 to Dora Anna Goepfert(actually...Dorothea Anna) b. 1870 d. 1960. buried with husband. her parents:Conrad and Margaret (Felderman) Goepfert. August and Dora had no children.
