Description	:	J B Lee of Orangeburg Jacob Benjamin Lee, 74, of Orangeburg, died Thursday morning at the home of Miss Lucille Lee, known as the Lee's Home, on the Ninety Six Road. Funeral services will be held at the St George Baptist Church, near Bolentown, at 5;15pm Friday with the Rev Ernest Williams officiating. Internment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with military rites at the graveside. Thompson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Funeral services will be held at the St George Baptist Church, near Bolentown, at 5;15pm Friday with the Rev Ernest Williams officiating. Active pallbearers will be "Gene" Whisenhunt, Jr, David Brooker, Ernie Lee, Herbert lee, Sr., Tim Lee, Albert Lee, David Hayden, Johnnie Lee, and Sawyer Lee. Honorary pallbearers will be deacons and members of the Adult Sunday School Classes of St George Baptist Church, Dr Albert Wolfe, Dr W O Whetsell, Winfield Jameson, Lloyd Jameson, Andrew Stroman Jr., Harry Shroat Sr., Charlie Johnson, Earl Dukes, Julian J Stroman, Gilbert Huffman. Also, Harry Roberts, Herman Bull, John W Flinton, Morgan Brooker, Fred Hansen, S B Spell, Joseph Fogle, Basil Kennerly, Chester Tyler, Hayward Jameson and Pat Jennings. Mr Lee served in the US Navy during World War I from July 11, 1917 to Aug 26, 1919. He was a lieutenant in the Navy Reserve from March 15, 1929 to Oct 10, 1941. Mr Lee was a retired Merchant Marine chief engineer of Socony Mobile Oil Co. of New York and was a member of its 20 year club. He was a member of the St George Baptist Church, having served as Sunday School teacher before his illness and a member of the Extension Department of the church. He was a member of the C W Francy American Legion Post 70 of Oteen, NC. Mr Lee was born in Orangeburg County, a son of the late Jacob Benjamin and Mary Jane Hayden Lee. He is survived by the following nieces and nephews with whom he made his home for the past 25 years: three nieces Miss Lucille Lee, Mrs Gary (Nellie) Brooker, Jr and Mrs Nortise (Mollie) Whisenhunt, all of Orangeburg; four nephews, Wilson and Herbert Lee of Orangeburg, Sawyer Lee of Greenville and Johnnie Lee of Charlotte, NC.; five brothers, Lola P Lee, W S Lee, Jr and William B Lee, all of Orangeburg, Fritz Lee of Chinook, Mont., and John Lee of Washington DC.
