Mr Espeland was born Sept 24,1855 in Norway and came to America when he was 20 years of age. He Settled in Garden City, Hardin Co, IA but had resided for 20 years in West Union. Six children by a first marriage survive him, none of whom live in this vicinity. He was married on Feb 16,1918 to Mrs M.J. Peterson of West Union and their home was established on North Vine Street where they had lived continuously since their marriage.
