| Description | : | Jacob Bowman, born 14 March 1798, Rockingham County, Virginia. He married Elizabeth Keister, on 30 November 1823. They lived for 28 years on his fathers home place where all 14 of their children were born. In 1850 Jacob sold his land in Virginia traveled by wagon to Parkersburg, Virginia (now West Virginia). There he booked passage down Ohio River by steam boat to Cario, Illinois then up Mississippi River to Bellevue, Iowa settling in section 32 southwest of Maquoketa,Iowa in Jackson County entire trip took 28 days. |
