Description	:	The Hagerstown (IN) Exponent, Wed. Jan 6, 1897 Jacob Bowman, who has long lived in this vicinity, passed beyond, one week ago today, at his home three miles west of this place. He was born in Montgomery Co., O., and at the time of his death was in his ninety-first year. At the age of fifteen he came with his parents to this county and eight years later was married to Elizabeth Leador who passed away in 1879. Jan 6, 1897 Jacob Bowman, who has long lived in this vicinity, passed beyond, one week ago today, at his home three miles west of this place. He was born in Montgomery Co., O., and at the time of his death was in his ninety-first year. At the age of fifteen he came with his parents to this county and eight years later was married to Elizabeth Leador who passed away in 1879. To them were born seven children, a daughter and a son still remaining. He was for many years a member of the German Baptist Church and was also a minister of that denomination for more than forty years. for the past ten years he was unable to do active ministerial work, but attended church services as long as he was physically able to do so. the last public service he attended was the funeral of his brother, Daniel, October 11, 1894. He was a son of Elder Benjamin Bowman.
