Bickley, 76, early-day resident of Waterloo, died Wednesday at his farm home one-half mile west of Clarksville, Ia., of a complication of diseases incident to advanced age. Bickley, 76, early-day resident of Waterloo, died Wednesday at his farm home one-half mile west of Clarksville, Ia., of a complication of diseases incident to advanced age. He was born in 1855 in Berlin, Somerset County, Pa., the youngest of the 15 children of John A. and Anna Good Bickley. He came with his parents to Waterloo at the age of 7 years, attending the public schools of this city, and being graduated from Waterloo West High school. He went to Clarksville when he was 19, making his home for a time with George Moyer. Mr. Bickley taught school for several years at Clarksville. He married Miss Dora Russell in October, 1876, and to this union five children were born, three of whom survive: Mrs. Belle Clark and John Ruluff Bickley, Clarksville, and Mrs. Daisy Steinbuck, Los Angeles. Jay Bickley and Henry Rev. Bickley died several years ago. Mr. Bickley’s wife died in January, 1897, at Clarksville. In 1905 Mr. Bickley married Mrs. Elizabeth Thompson, of Franklin, Ind. He was a member of the Christadelphian Ecclesia. Mr. Bickley is the last of the children of John A. and Anna Good Bickley. He was a brother of Dr. Gabriel G. Bickley, sr., and of Dr. John G. Bickley. Surviving besides his widow and children are one stepdaughter, Mrs. Wesley Noltereick, Cedar Falls, six grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be at 2 p. m. Sunday at the home, John G. Miller, Waterloo, in charge. Pallbearers will be Walter Klinck, Morris Kellogg, Carl Priepke and Harry Wioheimn, all of Clarksville, and Allen Lichty and John Holmes, Waterloo. Burial will be in Lynwood cemetery, Clarksville.
