Description	:	Jacob Henry Gower (aka Gauer) 1870-1907 The deceased was well-known to the people of and near Oakland, being born and raised near here, and having at one time conduced a mercantile business in this town. Mr. Gower was a little over thirty-seven years of age. He was the father of five children, having been married to Julia Lower, whom he leaves a widow. Mr. Gower was working in a coal mine at Century, W. Va. He went to work Friday morning at which time he was covered over by a slip of coal. He died... Read More	Jacob Henry Gower (aka Gauer) 1870-1907 The deceased was well-known to the people of and near Oakland, being born and raised near here, and having at one time conduced a mercantile business in this town. Mr. Gower was a little over thirty-seven years of age. He was the father of five children, having been married to Julia Lower, whom he leaves a widow. Mr. Gower was working in a coal mine at Century, W. Va. He went to work Friday morning at which time he was covered over by a slip of coal. He died the next day, being brought to Oakland Sunday. He was buried from the home of his brother, Truman, in Oakland, the remains being laid to rest in the Wonderly graveyard near Loch Lynn Heights, the funeral services being conducted by Rev.
