Description	:	Jacob Delzer was born in Leith, North Dakota on February 26th 1912. He was the oldest son in a family of eight children. These children were some of the first home schooled students as the schoolhouse had not been built. Dad grew up as a farmer, working the fields with horses for many years. In the drought years of the 1930's he worked for various farmers in the Midwest. Read More	Jacob Delzer was born in Leith, North Dakota on February 26th 1912. He was the oldest son in a family of eight children. These children were some of the first home schooled students as the schoolhouse had not been built. Dad grew up as a farmer, working the fields with horses for many years. In the drought years of the 1930's he worked for various farmers in the Midwest. During the war years he worked as an engine tender in the railroad roundhouse in Laramie, WY and as part of a track crew for several Sections. Dad later owned his own truck and hauled grain from farms around Faith, S. Dakota to the grain elevator in the town of Faith. He was an inventor and held patents. Dad worked for the City of Yakima as a heavy equipment operator at the city landfill. He loved to travel, visiting most of the eleven western states. Fishing for salmon and steelhead in the Rogue River was a hobby which he and mom enjoyed for many years. As a woodworker he enjoyed working with Myrtle wood and made clocks and a beautiful china cabinet. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 30, 2013 at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home with interment to follow at West Hills Memorial Park.
