Several children will also mourn the loss of a father. ******* November 27, 1889, p. 4, col. 5 The funeral of Jacob Joss will occur at 3 o’clock tomorrow. There will be brief services at the house conducted by the German minister. The pall bearers will consist of three members of the Fremont Turn Verein and the same number from Engine Co. No. 1. The Turners and the above fire company, to both of which organizations Mr. Joss belonged, will attend in bodies. ******* November 28, 1889, p. 4, col. 5 Jacob Joss Funeral. The last tribute of respect to mortal man was paid Jacob Joss at three o’clock this afternoon when his friends laid him away in the city of the dead. The funeral was largely attended, the Turners and fire department being present in bodies. Rev. L. F. Berry officiated. The pall bearers were: Thos. Frahm, D. Hein, M. Brooks, E. Hoffmeister, R. Motter, Jno. Knoell and C. F. Herre.
