Description	:	Jacob Lawrence Getzfrid, son of Michael and Maria Getzfrid was born in Odessa, Russia on August 7, 1876. At the age of 12 years, he came with his parents and family to the United States, sailing from a port at Bremen, Germany, on the vessel Elbe. Arriving in New York on June 28, 1889, they then came to South Dakota. Later, they moved to Boone County, Nebraska, where he spent all his adult life. Read More	Jacob Lawrence Getzfrid, son of Michael and Maria Getzfrid was born in Odessa, Russia on August 7, 1876. Arriving in New York on June 28, 1889, they then came to South Dakota. Later, they moved to Boone County, Nebraska, where he spent all his adult life. On February 14,1900, he was married to Frances Clara Kunzman at St. Michael's Church at Albion, Nebraska, with Father Donahue officiating. All of their married life was spent in the Albion community. They were the parents of seven children: Leonard, Julius, Eva, Evelyn, Anthony, Charlotte and Virginia. On February 14,1950, they celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary at Huntington Park, California, where they were spending the winter months with four of their children, Eva, Anthony, Charlotte and Virginia. Jacob Getzfrid died at Albion, Nebraska on March 15,1951 and was buried at St. Michael's Cemetery at Albion. He had two brothers, John and Louie and one sister, Mary Heck. Also, he had two half brothers, Easter and Phillip and one half sister, Rose Benson.
