About 1830, he removed to Ohio, where, the compiler infers, he lived thereafter. He married Hannah Hyde, probably born in CT; sister of John T and Dr Ebenezer Hyde, of Amnity. Her ancestry was Ebenezer and Lois (Thatcher). Her parents, of CT and Poultney. Ebenezer and Mercy (Thacher) of Canterbury, CT; James and Mary of Canterbury; Jonathan and Dorothy (Kabler) of Newton, MA; and Sgt Johnathan and Mary (French) Hyde of Newton, 1647. Hannah died, according to an old letter, Jun 1877, aged 93. Mr Manning died in 1848. Children: 1) Horace Manning born 11 Apr 1803 in Vermont (FAG 223931787) 2) Harvey Manning, died in 1804 from injuries received by being run over by an ox-cart, which ran loose down a hill. 3) James Manning, date of birth not learned. 4) Jane Manning (born 1809 Amity, NY) ~~1st married: Isaac Newton, by whom she had no children ~~2nd married: Hugh Campbell, lived in Erie Co, OH. Their children: 1-John; 2-George; 3-Prudence. Married ____Holmes and lives in Hastings, NE. She has been repeatedly asked for her mother's family record. 5) Philona Manning, born 27 Jul 1812, Amity, NY. Married Lyman L Wright, b 22 Aug 1812 at Hartford, NY, son of Moses and Ruth (Lamb) and grandson of David and Mary (Conley) Wright of Northfield, MA. Philona died 4 May 1859 at Vermilion, OH; Lyman L in 1892, resided with his daughter, Mrs Dimick. Children: 1-Mary Jane, b 17 Jan 1832, Friendship, NY; 2-Rufus Volney, b 12 Nov 1834 at Ridgeville, Lorain Co, OH; 3-George Washington, b 24 Jul 1843 at Vermilion. 4 - Orlando, b 19 Jan 1845 at Vermilion. 5 - Jennette Jan, b 12 Apr 1849 at Wheatland, Lenawee Co, MI; married ____Dimick; resides at Marshfield, MO. 6) Polly Manning, b about 1814; married Lawrence Blake; lived in Swandon, Fulton Co, OH. She died 16 Jan 1893, aged 77. He died 9 Apr 1898, aged 88. She had been repeatedly requested to send her record. Children: 1-Eugene, resides Wauseon; 2-Almeda, deceased; married ____Berry; 3-Lillian, died 29 Oct 1899 7) Nelson Manning, born Jan 1817 in Amity; died there 28 Apr 1841; married __, daughter of George and Catherine Feathers. Born 12 Oct 1815 at Grafton, NY; living in 1892. Children born in Amity: 1-Charles. Met with an accident and had his leg amputated; died from the effects of the operation; 2-Hannah Maria, born 9 Jun 1841; resides at Scio; married Daniel W Collins.
