| Description | : | "Jacob Marion Delong Sr.* [1817-1857] is thought to be the brother of Rebecca and Mary E. Delong. Jacob's granddaughter, Rose Churchman* [1880-1958] and my father claimed they were third cousins, leading me to believe the relationship is accurate. Jacob also arrived in California in 1854 as did the Bethards and Merithews. In 1841 he married Sarah Jane Burt* [1826-1888] and they had five children. Jacob's is the oldest marked grave in the Clear Creek Cemetery. Sara Jane married several times after Jacob's death, and is buried as Sara Jane Huff.
