Jacob Mishler was one of the oldest citizens of Lincoln township. Being not robust in stature, he was not strong physically. Read More	Cemetery directory states "Age 58 years, 1 month, 5 days Father" Newspaper Article from Audubon County Journal, August 30, 1906: "JACOB MISHLER DEAD A Good Man Has Gone to His Reward After Many Years of Toil. Jacob Mishler was one of the oldest citizens of Lincoln township. Being not robust in stature, he was not strong physically. His ambition led him to labor hard to support his respected family, only to find that every exertion weakened him to such an extent that he was constantly on the sick list. He was a good neighbor, a kind husband, a loving father and one of nature's noble characters. His employment, farming, was very laborious but that being his occupation, he followed it with all his might. Mr. Mishler moved from a farm in Lincoln township to the old Griffith farm in Eden township, Carroll county and from there, he moved his family to William Shaw's farm in Cameron township, which is also known as the James Hall place. He was known and respected for his honesty and integrity, for he would not take advantage of his fellow man to the value of anything. The disease which finally terminated his life was dropsy. Having reached the stage which terminates life, and surrounded by his sorrowing loved ones, this good man passed from this life Monday last. Interment was made in the Douglas township cemetery where lie the bodies of loved ones gone before. Rev. A. R. Grant officiated. The Journal sympathizes with the family in this hour of sorrow and bereavement." Jacob Mishler was born September 22, 1847 in Indiana. He died August 27, 1906 in Cameron Township, Audubon County, Iowa at age 58. He was married.
