Description	:	Jacob Ozinga Jacob Ozinga, 79, of Oskaloosa died April 17, 1998 at the Mahaska County Hospital of pneumonia following a stroke. Funeral services were held April 21 at the Peoria Christian Reformed Church in Pecria, Iowa with Pastor Ronald Bouwkamp officiating. Organist Marge Fynaardt provided the music. Casket bearers were Dale and Marvin Ozinga, Doug and Jerry Van Wyk, Terry Bandstra, and Steve Van Weeldon. Burial was in Peoria Cemetery with military services by Van Veen-Van Hemcrt American Legion Post #89. Jacob Ozinga was born April 30, 1918, near Taintor, Iowa, the son of William and Cornelia (Nieuwsma) Ozinga. Jacob was in the Army during World War II. On February 7,1946 he married Edna L. Van Wyk in Pella. He had worked at Vermeer Manufacturing for nineteen years and later was a security guard for Per Mar Security for ten years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #89. Surviving are his wife Edna, of Oskaloosa; a son, Dennis James Ozinga of Tulsa, Oklahoma; a foster-son, Dale Fountain and his wife, Patricia, of Anamosa, Iowa; three grandsons, one granddaughter, and two foster granddaughters. He also leaves two brothers: Arnold Ozinga and his wife, Ruth, of Peoria and Melvin Ozinga and his wife, Gerry, of Oskaloosa; and a sister-in-law Ila Ozinga of Pella. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Harold; and a sister, Anna Mae. Memorials may be given for the Gideons. Garden Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
