Jones was born September 28, 1932 in Horry County. He was the son of Jacob Rowell Jones and Bessie Marie Jordan. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and served as a Methodist Minister for over 44 years. Joel Jones and his wife, Donna Jones of Columbia and Mark Jones and his wife, Teresa Jones of Goose Creek; six grandchildren, Jason, Krista, and Tyler Jones and Allison, Kaitlin, and Kyle Shiner; and seven sisters, Bethany Smith of Conway, Trudy Shockley of Simpsonville, Elnita Smith of Socastee, Della Mae Kirkland of Batesburg, Ruth Daniels of Lamar, Yvonne Stokes of Denmark, and Nancy Lynn Casey of Wheatridge, Colo. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday, Apr. 5, at Bethel United Methodist Church, 57 Pitt Street, Charleston. Burial will be 4:30 p.m. at Pisgah United Methodist Church in Aynor.
