Jacob Bennett's funeral services were held in this city Monday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the Schroeder funeral chapel. The Rev. G. Sellars, accompanied by Mrs. Marion Veale, sang 'Shall We Meet Beyond the River', 'Jesus, Saviour, Pilot Me', and 'Rock of Ages'. The pallbearers were C.E. Bechtel, Earnest Zanker, Tom Hayes, Delbert Kelly, Andrew Lybarger, and Clint Frasier. Interment was in the Sparks cemetery. SPENT LIFE HERE. Jacob Theodore Bennett was born in Boone county, Iowa, September 15, 1869, the son of Lycurgus and Edith Miller Bennett, and passed away at his home, 1519 Fourteenth street, Saturday, February 2, 1935. He was a resident of Boone county all his life. He was united in marriage to Miss Amanda Troutwine in 1890. To this union were born three children, one having passed away. The living ones are Frank Bennett of Wyoming, and a daughter, Mrs. Reilly Platter of Boone. He was later married to Mae Lockwood, November 3, 1900. To this union were born two children, John William Bennett, who resides at 1818 Benton street, and the other son, Hiram, who passed away January 9, 1919. THE SURVIVORS. He leaves to mourn his passing besides the children, his widow and a brother, Wesley Bennett of Kansas City, Mo. One brother, Preston, having passed away in Boone, June 30, 1934. Also a number of sisters, Mrs. Angeline Abbott, of Boone; Mrs. Elizabeth Bundy, Boone; Mrs. Ida Stumbo, Boone; and Mrs. Jane Carpenter and Mrs. Viola Wisecup, both of Ogden. A sister, Mrs. Bell Pestotnick passed away in 1930; and a host of other relatives and friends."
