Jacoba Henrietta Fynaardt, daughter of George and Martha Van Snippenberg Rozenboom, was born June 21, 1911 in Pella, Iowa. She was baptized at the Pella First Christian Reformed Church. Jacoba Henrietta Fynaardt, daughter of George and Martha Van Snippenberg Rozenboom, was born June 21, 1911 in Pella, Iowa. She was baptized at the Pella First Christian Reformed Church. She married Tunis Fynaaredt December 30, 1931 in Lacey, Iowa. They made their home on a farm south of Oskaloosa and in 1947 moved to a farm near New Sharon. Cobie was a busy farm wife and mother. After moving to New Sharon, they joined the Peoria Christian Reformed Church and she was part of a women's sextet group and Queen Esther Circle. In 1961, they retired from farming and moved to Oskaloosa. Cobie and Tunis transferred their church membership to the First Christian Reformed Church, where she was active in the Ladies Bible Hour Society. Cobie's faith and relationship with Christ was the passion of her life, and her lifelong desire was for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren to personally know Jesus. Cobie's family includes four sons: Leo(Dona)Fynaardt of Oskaloosa, Iowa; Leland(Edna)Fynaardt of Sully, Iowa; Kenneth(Margy)Fynaardt of Pella, Iowa and Melvin(Carol)Fynaardt of New Sharon, Iowa; a daughter, Carolyn(Bill Heethuis)Van Zee-Heethuis of Caledonia, Michingan; 16 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren; two brothers: Gys(Ada)Rozenboom of Grand Rapids, Mich. and Gerald(Clarissa)Rozenboom of Oskaloosa; two sisters: Johanna Kleinwassink of Sheboygan, Wisc. and Martha(William)DeBoef of Pella; and a brother-in-law, Arthur(Velma)DeBoef of New Sharon. Besides her parents, Cobie was preceded in death by her husband Tunis on November 16, 1994, a son-in-law, Allen Van Zee; a great grandson, Brian Allen Fynaardt; three brothers: John, Joe and Garreet Rozenboom and four sisters: Gertie Wassink, Jennie Wauters, Lucy Groenendyk and Jeanette DeBoef. Memorials may be made to her church, the Peoria Christian Schoool or the Oskaloosa Christian School. Visitation: will begin at 11am Thursday morning, October 21, 2010 at Garland-Van Arkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel. The family will be at the funeral chapel from 5-8pm to greet visitors Funeral Seervice: 10:30am Friday morning, October 22, 2010 at First Christian Reformed Church with Reverend Dale Visser officiating. A family prayer service will be held in the church basement at 10:15 preceding the funeral service. Interment: Forest Cemetery.
