Jackie was born June 26, 1941 in McCausland, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Mary (LeBarge) Carber. She was a graduate of Clinton High School. Jackie was united in marriage to Lawrence "Larry" Atkinson on November 28, 1959 at St. Mary's Church, Clinton – celebrating 60 years of marriage until Larry's passing in January 2020. Jackie was a member of the Church of the Visitation and was the first woman appointed Trustee at the Church, in addition, she served as a Catechism teacher. She retired from Target after a 20+ year career. Jackie loved the outdoors, especially fishing and tending to her garden or simply feeding and then watching her backyard birds – cardinals and hummingbirds. Above all, she loved her family very much, especially her grandchildren. Jackie is survived by her two sons – Kevin (Missy) Atkinson of Camanche and Kenneth (Debi) Atkinson of Geneseo; one granddaughter – Jaiden Atkinson; three grandsons – Dakota (Erin), Cole (Alicea), and Tanner (Anna); two sisters - Mary "Lynn" Sullivan and Reba (Jim) Ellis and two brothers – Richard "Dick" and Clarence "Scoop" Carber; one sister in-law Teresa Carber with several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Preceding Jackie in death are her parents, husband Larry, two brothers and one sister. Memorials made can be directed to the family.
