Description	:	Jacqueline Palmer June 3, 1932 - November 24, 2017 Jacqueline Rose Palmer, 85 of Sioux City died peacefully November 24, 2017, at her longtime home in Sioux City, surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Church of the Nativity Catholic Church. Father Daniel Rupp will officiate. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Jackie was born June 3, 1932, in Grand Island, Nebraska, the third daughter of Holland C and. Thelma M. (Harrison) Kinnamon. She graduated from Wood River (NE) High School in 1949 and attended Kearney State College. She married Glenn E. Palmer June 16, 1951, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wood River. Jackie worked hard all her life for the benefit of her family, earning the respect and friendship of many along the way. She taught in Nebraska country schools from 1949 –53 and worked as a teaching assistant in Casper, Wyoming, from 1968 – 70. When the Palmer family settled in Sioux City in 1970, she began a 27-year career with the Sioux City Schools, retiring in 1997. Jackie loved spending time with family and traveling with Glenn, her husband of 56 years, prior to his death in 2007. She was an avid Twins fan and followed the PGA tournaments each weekend throughout her later years. She will be greatly missed by her children: Cynthia and her husband Randy Christiansen of Sioux City; Kevin and his wife Cathy Palmer of Blaine, MN; Greg Palmer of Buffalo, MN; and Kirk Palmer and his wife Sally Schalk of Sarasota, Florida. Jackie is also survived by eight grandchildren: Bradley Christiansen and his wife Sheena of St. Paul, MN; Nicholas Christiansen and his fiancée Callie Naylor of Sioux City; Rachel and her husband Adam Retterath of Mounds View, MN; Hilary and Stefanie Palmer; and Grace, Roy and Cyrus Palmer. Her beloved great-grandchildren are Serenity, Nevaeh and Kai Christiansen. She will also be greatly missed by her two treasured West Highland White Terriers, Freddy and Nora. Jackie Palmer was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn, her parents and two sisters, Elizabeth and Jeanette. In lieu of flowers, the family will accept memorials for donation in Jackie Palmer’s name to Crossroads of Buffalo, Minnesota, an organization dedicated to rescuing and placing homeless dogs.
