Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 4, 2-4 p.m., at Marriott Regency Hotel, 10220 Regency Circle, Omaha. Memorials – donor's choice.

He was preceded in death by brother John and son Jim.

He was survived by sister Mitzi (Howard) Benson and sons Mike (Margaret), Joe and Ted.

James A. McMeekin was born in Shelby. He graduated from North Platte High School in 1945 and University of Nebraska in 1951. He served in U.S. Army and lived for many years in Columbus, where he owned an engineering and surveying business.
